Mr. Richards is a graduate of Apple Valley High School, class of 1990. Throughout his 26 years of experience in education, Mr. Richards held the title of math teacher, wrestling coach, Department Chair, Peer Leader advisor, Dean of Students, and Principal.  Mr. Richards is passionate about working with students and improving their skills so that they are successful in their future endeavors. Dr. Lisa Longoria, Vice Principal (Elementary)

Dr. Longoria has spent 17 years in education, with experience teaching grades K-12, and leading in charter schools, as a Director of Curriculum & Instruction, and Elementary Vice Principal. 
 
Dr. Longoria holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies from California State University, Northridge and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from California State University, San Bernardino. She earned her Ph.D. at Claremont Graduate University in 2017, her dissertation work surrounding Social Capital accrual through different modalities of beginning teacher mentorship in an induction program. Dr. Longoria holds an Administrative Services Credential and certificates in online and blending teaching and teacher leadership. She has presented at the Hawaii International Conference of Education, the EdTech Summit, and the California Council for Teacher Education. Her message of “Kindness is Always an Option” is her legacy, devoting social-emotional videos, projects, and leadership for student excellence.
 

Sally Ritchea, Vice Principal (Middle School-High School)

Ms. Ritchea has a Clear Administrative Service Credential and is a great fit to lead our school in accomplishing its mission while building the positive, safe learning environment we have established at AAE.
 
Ms. Ritchea has worked at AAE for five years as an Education Specialist in the Special Education department. Prior to joining us, she was employed with HUSD for nine years where she founded and staffed the Hesperia Community Day School for students that had been expelled from the district. Additionally, she spent 21 years in law enforcement. In her “free time”, Ms. Ritchea enjoys gardening, canning, and quilting. She is supported by her wonderful husband, Danny, who is the official cook at their house, and her three “four-legged children”.
